This summer, the magic of Broadway will once again illuminate Sonoma’s night sky as Broadway Under the Stars returns to the Field of Dreams just blocks away from the Sonoma Plaza.
As a former New Yorker, I grew up enchanted by the magic of Broadway—the lights, the energy, the unforgettable performances and shows that define Manhattan’s theater scene.
My guest on the 04/17/25 “Theatre Thursday” segment on The Drive on 95.5 was Amy Miller, Creative Vision Director of Transcendence Theatre Company. Amy previewed TTC’s upcoming summer series of shows.
Their “Broadway Under the Stars” series kicks off on June 13 in Sonoma with Broadway’s Best Night Ever.
Here are highlights of other creative holiday shows around the Bay Area:
Transcendence Theatre Company and Marin Theatre team up to present a new medley of Broadway song-and-dance numbers and classic holiday songs, performed by Broadway veterans and up-and-coming entertainers … Suitable for all ages, “Broadway Holiday” marks the first time Sonoma-based Transcendence Theatre will bring a show to Marin Theatre’s venue in Mill Valley and then restage it in the city of Sonoma’s historic Sebastiani Theatre on Sonoma Plaza.
Transcendence Theatre Company in Sonoma, California is looking for a seasonal Production Coordinator to join its production management team for the summer. The seasonal contract runs March 25–September 30 and receives a weekly salary.
Troy Quinn, named the new Pops conductor of Santa Rosa Symphony last May, will conduct his first pops series concert, “Classical Mystery Tour — The Music of the Beatles,” with the orchestra Feb. 16, and it’ll be a packed house.
Quinn made his conducting debut in Sonoma County on July 4, when he led the Santa Rosa Symphony in collaboration with Transcendence Theatre Company for the Green Music Center’s annual “4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.”
Sonoma City Council approved changes for the 2025 Tuesday Night Market season, with enhancements to benefit vendors, improve the community experience, and foster green initiatives and youth programs.
A special market will be held the week of the Fourth of July and the City Party will be integrated into the market to avoid scheduling conflicts with Transcendence Theatre Company performances.
The Transcendence Theatre Company will celebrate its tenth Holiday Production this month, with one set of performances at Sonoma’s Sebastiani Theatre and another at Marin Theatre in Mill Valley.
The Broadway Holiday production, an all-new program promising to dazzle and delight, will present two exciting firsts – the first time the production has been staged at Sonoma’s historic Sebastiani Theatre – December 18-19 – and the first time the Transcendence Theatre Company has presented a production in Marin County. The Marin production will be staged at the Marin Theatre in Mill Valley, presented by arts patron Vickie Soulier, on December 12-15.

Transcendence Theatre Company’s third show of the season “Dancing in the Street,” running Aug. 15-18, is a celebration of summer music from beloved singer-songwriters and today’s hitmakers to Motown classics.
Transcendence describes the performance as “a sizzling block party,” with featured music including songs by Whitney Houston, Elton John and Bruno Mars.
The show is directed and choreographed by Eric Jackson, associate artistic director at Salt Lake City Pioneer Theatre. He previously worked with Transcendence for seven years as a performer, costume designer, props master and stage manager, among other roles.
