FAQs for Kids Camp
What will my kids be doing each day at camp?
Campers will participate in a range of classes through the week including improvisation, dance, and even writing a 10-minute musical! You can find descriptions of classes on page two (2) of the above packet and a full schedule of camp on the last pages.
Do they need prior experience?/ Is there an audition to participate?
No prior experience is necessary for camp and there is not an audition process. While some of our campers will have taken lessons or performed in the past, most have not. Kids Camp is a great first exposure to the performing arts. We believe strongly that the arts open doors and build skills that are useful for a lifetime. Kids Campers will leave their week with increased skills in collaboration, creativity, confidence, self-expression, body awareness, teamwork, and innovation.
Are there scholarships available? How do we apply?
In order to provide this opportunity for all, we have several need based scholarships available. We currently offer half and full scholarships for Kids Camp. If interested in a Kids Camp scholarship please fill out our Scholarship Request Form.
Is there an adjustment in pricing due to the move to an online camp for 2020?
Yes. The price of camp has been reduced to $100 for the full Kids Camp experience. This includes three days of group classes, a private 30-minute coaching with a Transcendence artist, and the virtual solo concert on Friday.
Is there a refund if I already paid for Kids Camp?
Yes. The price of camp has been reduced by $350 due to the cancellation of our “in-person” weeklong Kids Camp and Fantastical Family Night performance. There are two (2) ways to manage your already purchased Kids Camp tuition-
#1 transferring the residual amount towards a donation to the Transcendence Arts & Values Education Fund, or
#2- receiving a full (if not wanting to participate) or residual amount refund.
To discuss your donation or request a refund please schedule an appointment OR call at 877-424-1414 ext 1.
Can I pay for another student to receive a scholarship to kids camp? How?
You are more than welcome to pay for another student to attend camp. If you know their name please contact the Transcendence box office. You will need to provide them with the student’s name for whom you are making the payment as well as contact information for that camper. We appreciate the generosity so very much!
