2020 Broadway Under the Stars Ticket Exchange Policy

We couldn’t be more grateful that our Broadway Under the Stars performances are able to continue with reimagined online performances.

Changing your ticket purchase into a donation allows us the ability to host this fully online season and sustains Transcendence through these unprecedented times. It is because of you, the show can go on. The value of your previously purchased tickets will be converted automatically into a donation on May 26th. You will be sent a tax-deductible letter confirming the donated amount.

Skits Under the Stars is a FREE community event. No ticket purchase necessary.

Seating Levels at Broadway Under the Stars

VIP

VIP ticket holders receive access to the exclusive “VIP Bubble Lounge” during the pre-show picnic, reserved VIP seating with a seat cushion provided for the performance, VIP parking, and two complimentary glasses of wine with one commemorative and biodegradable Transcendence Theatre cup.

Premium

Premium ticket holders have reserved seating with a seat cushion provided for the performance, and guaranteed parking at Jack London State Historic Park.

Reserved

General Reserved ticket holders have reserved seating. Parking will be at Benziger Family Winery with a complimentary shuttle to Jack London State Historic Park.

Youth

Our Fantastical Family Night concerts feature specially priced youth tickets for children under 18 years old.

Jack London State Historic Park

The Park

Broadway Under the Stars performances are held within the winery ruins located on the grounds of Jack London State Historic Park (JLSHP). $8 goes to JLSHP with each ticket purchase and by the end of the 2019 season, we will have raised over half a million dollars for the Park.

Arrival

Pre-show picnicking begins two and a half hours before each show at 5pm on the Great Lawn, when Jack London Park closes to the public. Please visit our website for information about nightly pre-show musicians.

Patrons should check in at our on-site box office, which is located just beyond the entrance to the Beauty Ranch in the upper parking lot. You are welcome to arrive at the park any time between 5pm and when the performance begins at 7:30pm.

Please allow 20-30 minutes for parking and either catching a shuttle or walking to the Beauty Ranch. Keep in mind that it takes 5-10 minutes to walk from the box office entrance of the event to the performance site in the Winery Ruins. Moderate hiking may be required from the parking area to the performance space.

Seating

For all performances at Jack London State Historic Park a chair is not necessary as seating is provided in the theatre space.

VIP and Premium Seating ticket holders are provided with seat cushions. Guests may bring their own seat cushions to the venue.

Lawn chairs are permitted for pre-show picnicking before performances but they will need to be stored outside of the theatre during the performance as there is limited space for storage inside the theatre. Transcendence staff cannot store personal belongings throughout the show.

Restrooms

Portable restrooms and hand wash areas are onsite in convenient locations available to patrons before, during, and after performances. Wheel-chair accessible portable restrooms are also onsite.

Merchandise

Transcendence items including shirts, sweatshirts, hats, blankets, and more are available for purchase at the park. Credit cards only accepted for our cashless merchandise booth.

What to Wear

The pre-show picnic and performance are entirely outdoors so please come prepared for all types of weather. In the summer, the grounds can be quite hot during the day but cool quickly when the sun sets so we recommend dressing in layers. You may bring an umbrella or a large hat, but the use of umbrellas, parasols, or large hats during the performance, either for protection from the rain or sun, is prohibited. Also, the grounds consist of level-but-uneven lawns, gently rolling hillsides, and gravel paths. Therefore, sturdy and comfortable shoes are recommended. Feel free to bring a blanket or sweatshirt for when the temperatures drop, but know that both are available for purchase at Transcendence merchandise stations.

Smoking

Smoking on park grounds is a fire hazard and is therefore strictly prohibited. This includes all electronic smoking and vapor devices. Smoking is allowed in the upper and lower parking lots at the park only.

Post Event Safety

Although the moon generously lights the park at night, there is limited lighting at the venue after dark. We will be lighting your exit path to ensure that the walk to your car is easy and safe, but we suggest bringing flashlights. If you parked at Benziger, please wait for the shuttle for your own safety.

Open flames are strictly prohibited.

First Aid

We have medical support available in the first aid tent at every performance. If you think you are having a medical emergency, please contact any staff on site and they will direct you.

Photography

During the pre-show picnic, and before the performance begins, feel free to take as many pictures are you would like. Please share with the hashtag #BestNightEver. During the performance, all photography, video, or sound recording is strictly prohibited. Offenders may be asked to leave and may be liable for copyright damages.

House Management

During the performance in the ruins,  please do not touch the walls.

Parking at Broadway Under the Stars

General Parking Information

Parking will be in the upper and lower parking lots of Jack London State Historic Park for VIP and Premium ticket holders, as well as our Handicap patrons. General Reserved ticket holders will be directed into the parking lot at Benziger Family Winery, just south of the park. If you park at Benziger, Transcendence shuttles will transport you to and from the park.

Please plan on arriving early to performances as moderate hiking may be required from the parking area to the performance space.

Upper and Lower Lot Parking

Upper Lot Parking at Jack London State Historic Park is reserved for VIP ticket holders only.

Lower Lot Parking at Jack London State Historic Park is reserved for all handicap parking. Any additional space is open to Premium ticket holders until the lot is full.

General Reserved ticket holders will park at Benziger Family Winery with a complimentary shuttle to Jack London State Historic Park.

Parking Shuttle

For guests parking at Benziger in the parking lot, a complimentary shuttle is provided to transport guests from Benziger to the park.

Please allow sufficient time to take the shuttle and walk to the venue. It may take guests up to 30 minutes to arrive at the venue.

Carpooling

We strongly encourage groups to carpool whenever possible as parking is limited, and we are grateful to those who consider this environmentally conscious option.

What to Bring to Broadway Under the Stars

Outside Chairs

For Broadway Under The Stars and most Transcendence Artist Series concerts, a chair is not necessary as seating is provided in the theatre spaces.

Flashlights

Although the moon generously lights the park at night, there is limited lighting at the venue after dark. We will be lighting your exit path to ensure that the walk to your car is easy and safe, but we suggest bringing flashlights. Open flames (such candles and hurricane lanterns) are strictly prohibited in the Park.

Umbrellas

You may bring an umbrella if you like, but the use of umbrellas or parasols during the performance – either for protection from rain or sun – is prohibited.

Service Animals

We love dogs as much as you, but for these events please leave your canine friends at home. Official service dogs are permitted and gladly welcome onto the grounds for performances.

Credit Card Policy

Effective August 2018 credit cards will be the only form of payment accepted when you purchase beverage tickets and merchandise. Please note that food trucks and other vendors will have separate payment policies.

Alcohol Policy

Our alcohol license strictly prohibits outside alcohol. Wine, beer, water, and other nonalcoholic beverages are available for purchase. We will NOT be serving alcohol during the performance.  At Intermission patrons are only allowed to purchase 2 alcoholic beverages and are no longer permitted to purchase bottles of wine.

You may bring non-alcoholic beverages with you into the park.

Picnicking in the Park

Patrons are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds of the Beauty Ranch Lawn. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase. Please see individual performance pages for information on nightly food and wine vendors.

Picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis but feel free to reserve one for a nominal fee online in order to ensure a comfortable picnicking experience.

Keep in mind that there is limited space in the performance space for storing personal items, so please consider this when loading in coolers or other supplies for your picnic.

Food

Patrons are welcome to bring a picnic to the event. Food trucks are on-site with a range of cuisine and price options. Credit cards only for our cashless vendors. Please visit our website for information about nightly food vendors. VIP benefits include an option to pre-order a gourmet meal delivered to the VIP lounge.

Wine Glasses

Please note, because of regulatory concerns, Transcendence staff members are only permitted to pour wine into our new biodegradable Transcendence cups. These may be purchased for a nominal fee, are hand-washable, and can be used again and again at Transcendence events throughout the summer and from year to year.

Environmental Initiatives at Broadway Under the Stars

Bring It In, Bring It Out

When bringing your own picnic, follow the “Bring it In, Bring it Out” philosophy. Pack a picnic basket with reusable plastic plates, cutlery, napkins and more. This is the best way to leave no trace when you finish your meal and leave the park. Keep in mind, however, that breakable china or glass is prohibited in an effort to keep the park safe from accidental breakage.

If you find it necessary to bring disposable plates and cutlery, support our efforts by bringing only 100% compostable materials into the park. Keep in mind that reusable and biodegradable cups are available for purchase at Transcendence events. These glasses can either be fully recycled or used again and again at Transcendence events.

Near Zero Waste Initiative

Beginning in 2015, Transcendence Theatre Company implemented a “Near Zero Waste Initiative” for all events at Jack London State Historic Park. You can participate and help us in respecting the historic integrity of the park as we celebrate and enjoy the beauty of the land.

Together, we can make Transcendence events at Jack London State Historic Park the most environmentally friendly events in Sonoma County!

Recycling & Compost

We recycle! When disposing of your waste take an extra minute to drop recyclables in blue recycling bins and any remaining items in black trash bins. Ask any staff member with a green bandana and they would be happy to help. This extra second makes a profound impact on the waste that leaves our events.

We also encourage you to bring reusable water bottles! Leave the plastic bottles at home and save the waste.

Getting Around

The park paths and lawn in the Beauty Ranch and Winery Ruins involve gently rolling and fairly level gravel paths, with no stairs, major hiking or exceedingly long distances involved. The paths are accessible for wheelchairs or motorized chairs, but you may need additional assistance if venturing off the paths onto lawns.

In addition, accessibility carts will take patrons to the Great Lawn for picnicking or directly to the theatre for performances. Upon your arrival, our parking attendants and box office staff will ensure that your needs are identified and direct you to in-park transportation or assistance.

Accessible Restrooms

Wheel-chair accessible portable restrooms will be onsite in convenient locations.

Parking

There is reserved parking in the Lower Parking Lot for those who possess an official disabled hangtag as well as patrons requiring assistance to the event area. There is also an ADA approved accessibility path from the upper parking lot to the front of the ruins. When you arrive at the park, please let parking attendants know you need the Accessibility cart and they will direct you to the appropriate parking area.

Service Animals

While pets and animals are not permitted in Jack London State Historic Park for the performances, ONLY official service dogs with the proper credentials are permitted.

Accessible Seating

The main floor level of the theater has accessible seating for people with mobility limitations. You must notify the Box Office of any special needs at the time of your ticket purchase. Ushers are available at the theater doors. Please explain to the usher how best to assist you if needed.

Assisted Listening

Assisted listening devises are available for our patrons at no cost. Please notify the Box Office staff when you arrive.

Accessible Restrooms

Wheelchair accessible restrooms are located on the main floor level.

Accessible Parking

Ample parking is available for persons with handicapped placards. Spaces are located just outside the Center’s north and south entrances.

Service Animals

Certified service animals necessary to assist patrons with disabilities are welcome and must remain on a leash or harness at all times. Please contact the Box Office if you intend to bring a service animal to an event so appropriate seating can be reserved for you.

Cancellation Policy

By purchasing a ticket, or otherwise using this website, you agree to our privacy policy and terms as well as our terms detailed below.

No exchanges, refunds, or returns. All sales are final. In general, tickets are available for online sales up to 3 hours before the event. After that, please purchase your tickets at the event’s box office. In some cases actual seat assignments and seating chart layouts may change without prior notice.

The resale of a ticket for more than its face value without the written consent of the owner/manager is prohibited by law.

In the event of a power outage, fire safety concern, rain, or any other possible weather or safety complication, the producers reserve the right to cancel performances and pre-show festivities. In the event of rain, every effort will be made to complete the performance, including playing in light rain. The decision to play or cancel will be made within approximately 45 minutes following the time that the production is held for rain. If the show is canceled before the first act is complete, you may receive tickets for another performance in the same calendar year (at management’s discretion with consideration of availability).

In the event of a cancellation for which there is no rescheduled date, a refund for this ticket may be issued at the option of the management and may not include additional ticketing fees (i.e., Ticketing operations fee, shipping fees, etc.).
