Transcendence was founded on a love for the community. With a deep belief that art is service, Transcendence is committed to bringing art to everyone through our outreach initiative, TRANSCENDENCE CONNECTS. Each year we look forward to finding ways to bring people and organizations together to affect powerful change in our local and global world.

Transcendence Theatre Company has partnered with the La Luz Center on three programs that will focus on youth education, self-empowerment workshops and cultural representation of the Latino population of Sonoma. (1) 15 scholarships to attend our Kids Camp, (2) a free self-empowerment workshop for ages 8-18, (3) over 200 donated to tickets to Broadway Under the Stars including transportation and Latinx inspired pre-show festivities. Join us as we continuously strive to be a company that fully reflects the diverse community of Sonoma.

In collaboration with La Luz Center, we have created an original work on the upcoming 2020 census and how it socially and politically impacts the Latinx community in the diverse Sonoma Valley.

La Luz Center, Sonoma Community Center, and Transcendence will present October workshops on the cultural customs of the Day of the Dead, leading up to a full-day festival on November 2nd featuring local Bay Area Latinx performances.

We are so happy to be working with the Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma again this year. Transcendence will provide 50 Club Members with free transportation, a bilingual pre-show performance workshop, a picnic meal, and a ticket to two of its season’s Broadway Under the Stars shows and Holiday Show.

Five Transcendence Teaching Artists will be serving free arts summer programming for Bay Area organizations that serve underprivileged youth up to three hours away from Sonoma.

Continuing with our tradition, about 50 junior Artists (8-12) will partake in our one week Kids Camp that culminates in a performance at our Fantastical Family Night concert. This year, for the first time, we have also created a Senior Artists Ensemble (13-18) who will rehearse and perform alongside our Broadway professionals in the Fantastical Family Night performance.

A unique opportunity for students/young professionals to gain practical experience in a variety of departments, from the creative to the administrative. This program provides valuable mentorship and expert training, bridging the gap between academic education and practice.

This program is generously funded by The Vadasz Family Foundation.

As a way of giving back to the community that we love, TTC staff and the casts of Broadway Under the Stars volunteer for a day at a local non-profit.

Over $2 million in revenue, programs, and services given back to our North Bay communities.
