Chicago brings the jazz-age intrigue of the 1920’s “celebrity criminal” to this gorgeous vineyard setting for Broadway Under the Stars!
Our second full Broadway musical is making its way to the Field of Dreams with all the drama of life in prohibition times in Chicago, Illinois. One of the longest-running American musicals in Broadway history, Chicago is a satire on corruption in the 1920’s criminal justice system. Elegant evening dress and high fashion set the stage for the defense by Billy Flynn. Watch as Roxie learns all the tricks from Velma to grab the media’s hearts and attention at just the right time. The story unfolds while Velma keeps close watch of Roxie’s lies, deceit, and ever-increasing media support while the trial twists and turns. Later we see Velma and Roxie team up in a vaudeville show neither of them expected.
A raucous tale of fame, fortune, and ALL THAT JAZZ with one show-stopping song after another and the most astonishing dancing you’ve ever seen. This stunning musical is sure to dazzle you with influence from original Director/Choreographer Bob Fosse, crafted authentically for Transcendence by Director Roy Lightner, Choreography by Jim Cooney, and Music Direction by Aaron Benham. It would be criminal to miss it!
